Dear Cathedral family,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior!
I pray each of you is healthy and safe.
In the past several weeks, members of our Congregations Committee worked with me producing the attached document outlining our protocols for when we are ready to offer in-person worship.
The Congregations Committee endorsed this document and engaged in profound conversations about the sadness and sense of loss we feel for not having the opportunity at this time to safely gather in person.
We have targeted September 7th as a date to return to our buildings. We understand that offering a specific date for reopening our buildings needs to be received with flexibility as we may return sooner or later than the date indicated based on the realities of our situation.
Our hope is to offer a 9 am service with organ music when we return to the building. We will continue enjoying our choir virtually until it is safe to offer in-person choral music.
I encourage you to read the protocol document and to continue joining us Sundays online at 10 am in English and 11 am in Spanish as well as on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. for Happy Hour/Bible Study in Spanish and Thursdays at 6 p.m. for Happy Hour/Bible Study in English.
Once again, I express my gratitude to Canon Pallares, Deacon Matthews, Tom Smith and all members of the Congregations Committee and Cathedral leaders for their faithfulness and dedication.
May God give us grace and strength as we live during these uncertain times.
Faithfully,
The Very Rev. Miguelina Howell, Cathedral Dean
