Around God's Table: A Liturgical Festival

Celebrating Deaf Musical Culture From Beethoven To Present

March 4 - St. John's, West Hartford

Around God's Table, happening May 6-7, is a weekend of worship and workshops centered on the sacred art of liturgy designed to bring all lay youth and adult worship leaders (Acolytes, Vergers, Chalice Bearers, Lectors, Ushers, Greeters, Altar Guilds, Choirs and more) together for fellowship, mutual learning, and sharing of best practices.

Attendees of Around God's Table will have the opportunity to explore subjects such as worship planning, music, and the use of incense.

Around God's Table is a collaboration of Christ Church Cathedral and Camp Washington. Find more information, including registration and workshop descriptions, at campwashington.org.

Celebrating Deaf Musical Culture From Beethoven To Present

The annual Companion in Mission Conference will focus on refugees and migration, across the street & around the world. Join others at St. John's West Hartford for a day-long conference complete with a keynote address by Allison Duvall, Program Manager for Church Relations & Engagement, Episcopal Migration Ministries, a panel discussion moderated by Bishop Ian, and several workshops.

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF OUR CATHEDRAL

WHEN: Sunday, January 29 - 10:30 a.m.

NOTE CHANGE: THERE WILL BE ONE SERVICE AT 10:30 a.m. with the meeting to follow

Notice is hereby given of the Annual Meeting of Christ Church Cathedral / Catedral Iglesia de Cristo to be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017, in the Cathedral House Auditorium immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service. All congregation members are urged to attend to hear about our participation in God's mission in the year 2016 and our outlook for a new program year.

Information will be given on stewardship, the Ministry Teams, other matters as well as what has occurred in the life of our Cathedral during the past year.


Elections will be held to fill the following offices:

  • Clerk of the Cathedral
  • Parish Committee members
  • Delegates to the Annual ECCT Convention
  • Building and Grounds Committee
  • Representatives to the North Central Region

The Parish Committee advises the clergy, provides leadership to the congregation and, in consultation with the Dean, oversees the Parish Ministry Teams. Each Parish Committee member is also a member of the Cathedral Chapter which is the legally constituted Board of Trustees of the Cathedral. The Chapter also includes members from outside the Cathedral. All major decisions affecting the life of the Cathedral require approval by the Chapter.

The ECCT Men's Ministry Network in association with the Brotherhood of St Andrew is sponsoring a day of reflection in honor of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King on Saturday, January 14.

The program will focus our discussion on the role of Christian men in furthering Dr. King's dream of social justice and racial equality in 21st century America. In addition to time for fellowship, the program will feature videos of selected sermons by Presiding Bishop The Most Rev. Michael Curry followed by reflection and discussion of the sermon. The program will conclude with lunch and a table Eucharist. Please join us from 9 am to 2 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 120 Sigourney St, Hartford. There is no cost for the event, and a free-will offering will offset the cost of lunch.
